slow, snowy driving

In my last post, I mentioned that Cory had driven "the Monte" up to Bellingham. The truck had been in the shop, and Monte was insured and had never been to Bellingham...so he figured "what the heck!" Before he left on Friday, we looked at the forecast for the weekend, it didn't look like he would be facing any snow on the Stevens Pass for his journey home on Monday. Even when we checked the pass report Monday evening before he left, it didn't look like he would run into any problems....we were wrong!
He had to put chains on at about Deception Falls {which is waaay before the top of the pass}, and just went about 15 mph the whole way over. He made it home just fine, it just took a little longer than usual. Oh the joys of winter driving...
